Greater Oxford Civic Association

The Greater Oxford Civic Association is committed to protecting the Oxford community and enhancing the overall neighborhood. This all-volunteer group focuses on issues such as land use development, crime-watch, City/County initiatives, neighborhood improvements and a variety of other issues that are fundamental to strengthening our area. The neighborhood is comprised of nearly 600 homes, 75% in the City of Richmond and 25% in Chesterfield County. The community is bound by the James River to the North, the town of Bon Air to the South; Huguenot Road to the West and Rattlesnake Creek to the East.

Throughout the year we engage with the community in a variety of programs and sponsorships. Some of these include a food drive for the Central Virginia Food Bank, a community-wide Spring Clean Up, Yard of the Month competition, Christmas Front Entryway contest and a Community Yard Sale. Additionally, we have the most extensive network of Crime Watch Block Captains in the greater Richmond area and provide a forum for discussion of neighborhood issues. We also produce The Oxford Observer quarterly newsletter which provides a wealth of local information, member-submitted news stories, and details about upcoming GOCA events. For all we do, we need you. We hope you'll consider joining the great Greater Oxford Civic Association.
